Missions
As a loving and caring church, we feel it is important to reach into the community.
The United Methodist Children’s Home, Bibles for the World, Indian Children’s
Choir, Pregnancy Crisis Center, Nursing Home Ministry, Food Pantry, and the
Samaritans Purse, are just some of the programs and services our Missions Group
is involved in.
Our Li’l Red Wagon
Please remember to bring canned and dry goods to place in the "Li'l Red Wagon" in Fellowship Hall for the Caring and Sharing food pantry. You can bring them anytime, but on the 2nd Sunday of each month the donations will be taken in honor and celebration of everyone having birthdays that month.
Missions of the Month:
Children in Crisis
In Florida each year there are between 9,000 and 10,000 children who are not able to live at home because of some sort of abuse or neglect. They are children of all ages, races and nationalities. Some of them have serious medical problems and handicaps. Many of them have wounded souls. About 1,400 of these children reside in the four counties in Northwest Florida. About six years ago, Children In Crisis was founded. They are a non-affiliated, grass roots organization made up of local volunteers. Their initiative is to provide homes and establish hope for children requiring foster care in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. This week the children in Vacation Bible School at St. Mark will be focusing on the Children In Crisis as their mission. They are making pillows for these children.
Let's pray that:
- Children In Crisis will have the wisdom as well as the means to meet the needs of these children.
- The involvement of local churches will help these children to develop a spiritual well being.
- These children's family situations might improve
